Fish fillet, such as tilapia | 600 g |
Habanero pepper | 2 pcs |
Red onion | 3 pcs |
White vinegar | 1 cup |
Lime | 2 pcs |
Mayonnaise | 1/2 cup |
Flour | 1 1/2 cup |
Paprika | 1 tbsp |
Garlic powder | 1 tsp |
Egg | 1 piece |
Beer | 1 cup |
Salt and pepper | To taste |
Purple cabbage | Optional |
Instructions
- For the spicy mayonnaise: blend half of a cup of mayonnaise with a habanero pepper and season with salt and pepper; reserve.
- Put into a bowl the red onion and a habanero pepper finely diced. Add the juice of two limes and one cup of white vinegar, season with salt and pepper; set aside for later
- Remove exceed moisture from the fish fillet using absorben paper; slice the fish.
- Prepare the batter. Place the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into a bowl and mix. Then add an egg and the beer, and mix thoroughly until you have a homogeneous mixture.
- In a pan with enough hot oil, fry the fish until it is golden and crispy. Then, remove and place on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
- To assemble the tacos, heat the corn tortillas and add a layer of spicy mayonnaise to each one.
- Next, place the battered fish on top, followed by the red onion and habanero salad. If desired, you can add a bit of purple cabbage for an additional touch of color and freshness.
